I used version 4 of Photoshop.
I also made extensive use of the Extensis PhotoBevel 2.0 Solo. I lucked out a while back in my browsing, when I came across where Extensis was giving it away for FREE! This is a simply amazing product! You can snap up freebie filters that will bevel your boxes, and even ones that'll bevel your dots, but PhotoBevel will bevel just about anything! See: I clipped out the white a in the Adobe logo, pasted it in a new layer and applied the filter to it. Ain't that sharp?
Notice the shadows on the a up there? I did that using another freebie: the Alien Skin Eye Candy 3.0 Demo. Most of the filters are disabled (You can't apply them to images), but two DO work. The shadow work on the a was done with the Eye Candy Drop Shadow filter. The other working filter in the demo kit is the Antimatter filter. It's basically a Negative Image filter (which is available in the color menu of Paint Shop Pro), and can come in handy for your onMouseOver images. While Antimatter is pretty much "light the fuse and run away", the Drop Shadow is fully controllable by you! You just have to get used to the splash box that pops up just before the filter works on your image.
