Buttons, buttons, I got yo' buttons!
Duh-duh-duh-dump! (Snap! Snap!) Duh-duh-duh-duhmp! (Snap! Snap!)
Duh-duh-duh-dump! Duh-duh-duh-dump! Duh-duh-duh-dumph! (Snap! Snap!)
"Visitors. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…."
Thank you Lurch! So you want to make buttons eh? Well you came to the right place! Would you believe I was actually thinking of using the same green PSP button on my homepage for the PSP suite index page? I mean what was I thinking? Was I even thinking? Green buttons on a pinkish background; now that's scary! Plus there's the unwritten rule (read: a good idea) of using uniform textures, designs and colors for buttons. It adds a touch of class to a website!
By the way, you did save your texture, didn't you? Good! Crop off/out a hunk about the size and shape for your buttons and SAVE IT! You may name it whatever you wish, but may I suggest you name it something like "button_blank", because it is a blank you're going to make buttons from.
I used a separate image to write my text on (remember the freebie tip?), but since you've already saved the blank, you may go ahead and write on that if you wish. The main thing is to have your text selected!
I inverted the selection and applied one of Toadie's* plug-in filters called "What Are You….?" There is only one slider on this filter, the Overdose setting, which I moved a little further to the right. This is what I got:
Add some Hot Wax if you'd like……
And then Buttonize (or bevel it, if you'd rather).
And there ya have it!
* Toadie's filters and available on the Web for free. There are over 20 plug-in filters in the pack.
